Sevilla and France International striker Wissam Ben Yedder strikes a deal with AS Monaco for a five-year contract.
When one door closes, another opens. Such is the case for 29-year-old Wissam Ben Yedder. The striker was being scouted by Manchester United, but when the 8th August UK trading window closed, he turned his attentions elsewhere and found a new home in the Principality.
After a difficult season, finishing 17th in Ligue 1 and missing playoff chances, the team could use some new blood to shake things up. Ben Yedder could be just the ticket, scoring 70 goals in 138 games last year, making him the fourth best scorer in Sevilla’s history.
“I am very happy to be involved with AS Monaco,” said Bed Yedder on the AS Monaco official website. “I chose Monaco because I believe in this project and I am determined to do everything possible to go after our common ambitions.”
AS Monaco has been busy of late, signing new forward Henry Onyekuru from Everton whilst loaning Djibril Sidibe to them, and selling Youri Tielemans to Leicester.
