Sotheby’s appoints head of jewellery and watches for France and Monaco

Auction house Sotheby’s has appointed Magali Teisseire as head of its jewellery and watch divisions for France and Monaco.

Teisseire studied art history as well as law before beginning her career as an auctioneer specialising in jewellery and horology. She worked as an auctioneer at PIASA from 2004 to 2009, then headed the jewellery department at French auction house Osenat Fontainebleau from 2009 to 2010, the industry news magazine jckonline reported.

Her appointment coincides with Sotheby’s first live and online jewellery and watches sale at Sotheby’s Paris will take place on October 11 and mark the 50th anniversary of Sotheby’s in the French capital.

Teisseire will work closely with Sotheby’s jewellery teams in Monaco, London, Milan, New York City, Geneva and Hong Kong.
