The management and players of AS Monaco Basketball were invited to the residence of the Minister of State on Friday, last week as part of the partnership agreement between the Government and the team, in terms of governance and communication.
The partnership aims to support the Club's sports project, to allow the team to convey the "Monaco" message and to accompany it in its relations with its competitors, as well as with the national and international basketball governing bodies.
This annual meeting allows both parties to share their respective roles and work in order to further strengthen their ties and to present the entire "Roca Team" to the members of the Government.
During his speech, Minister of State Serge Telle encouraged the team before the Leaders Cup, which takes place from February 16 to 18, during which the Monegasques will put their title back into play.
He congratulated the players and the staff and concluded his speech by emphasising that the Government as well as Monegasques were very proud of their team, which represents with dignity the colours of the Principality on the European scene.
AS Monaco Basket is currently leader of Pro A and qualified for the 1/8th finals of the Basketball Champions League.

Albert Croesi, Managing Director of Monaco Inter Expo (MIE), and Etienne Franzi, President of Compagnie Monégasque de Banque (CMB), signed a working partnership agreement on Thursday, February 15, in the presence of Gilles Tonelli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and HE Mireille Pettiti, President of MIE.
Convinced by the positive experience of the first partnership between MIE and CMB during the Astana EXPO-2017 Specialised Exhibition, the Monegasque bank wished to become more involved with the State Corporation to promote the influence of the Principality locally and beyond its borders.
"MIE is not only honoured by the confidence of the CMB, which becomes its official partner, but also proud to be associated with the image of excellence of this bank," said Mr Croesi.
MIE's mission is to promote the image of Monaco abroad and to organise events in the Principality, the first of which, entitled "Meeting of the Historic Grimaldi Sites of Monaco", will take place on June 23 and 24, 2018.

As part of the Principality's strategy of sustainable and responsible tourism, the New York office of the Tourism and Convention Bureau recently held an evening on the theme of "well-being" at AIRE Ancient Baths in New York.
The event was attended by twenty-four journalists, including from The New York Times, CNN Travel, Forbes, Harper's Bazaar, Robb Report, USA Today, and People Magazine. Cindy Hoddeson, Director of the Monaco Tourism Office in North America, presented the offer of care and "well-being" in the Principality. Ms Hoddeson also announced that Monaco is the very first destination and one of the founding members of the "Wellness Tourism Association".
In addition, two partners joined the event – Kusmi Tea and the Spa Metropole by Givenchy. A small succulent plant was also offered to guests, inviting them to discover the Exotic Garden of Monaco and echoing the Principality's environmental commitment.
