Palermo to Monte Carlo regatta

Excitement is mounting ahead of this year’s Palermo to Monte Carlo Regatta, which is set to take place in just two weeks time.

From 21st to 26th August, some of the finest racing boats in the Mediterranean will make their way from the Gulf of Mondello in Italy, passing through the course’s gate off the coast of Porto Cervo, Sardinia. Racers will then head to Corsica before making the last push to their final destination: Monaco.

The event, organised by the Yacht Club of Monaco, the Circolo della Vela Sicilia and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, will feature some big names in sailing, including the Principality’s own hometown favourite, the team led by Pierre Casiraghi, son of Princess Caroline.

Two prizes in total will awarded. The first for the best overall time and the second for the first yacht to cross the finish line in Port Hercule. Following the race, an award ceremony and gala will take place in Monaco to celebrate the winners and participants.
