Isabelle Picco, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Principality of Monaco to the United Nations, took part in the general debate of the UN’s  Committee on Economic and Financial Questions, held in New York on October 2.

The Ambassador reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Monaco to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Objectives (SDGs) and the Sustainable Development Programme by 2030.

Ms Picco underlined the important efforts made by the Principality in research and development. Monaco has set up entities to promote sustainable business, supports innovative projects, notably in the fields of information and communication technologies, health and the environment, and also backs specific financing solutions for innovation.

As a reminder, on July 17, the Minister of State presented the Principality’s voluntary national review on the implementation of sustainable development objectives at the High-Level Policy Forum.

Monaco’s choices concerning transport, water and waste management and its actions to preserve the environment make it an internationally-recognised player in the promotion of sustainable development.
