Travel Weekly Asia claims that Monaco is now Europe’s gourmet capital.
Originally from Alsace with experience working with celebrity chef Alain Ducasse, Benoit Witz has taken over from Joel Garault as executive chef at Michelin-starred restaurant Le Vistamar at Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo; while Jean-Claude Brugel, who took over the kitchen at Brasserie du Café de Paris in 2011, has been appointed chef at L’Hirondelle at Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo.

Both restaurants support Fondation Price Albert II de Monaco’s initiative to promote socially responsible dining through the Mr. Goodfish programme for sustainable fishing in the Mediterranean.

Monaco is home to nine Michelin star-rated restaurants.
