The civil ceremony took place on Friday 26th July and was attended by only close friends and family. The bride chose a sophisticated look wearing a chic Rosa Clará backless jumpsuit. The Mayor of Monaco, Georges Marson, conducted the ceremony, which was followed by a relaxed reception in the gardens of the Prince’s Palace.

The traditional ceremony was held in front of 200 guests on Saturday at the Monaco Cathedral, a touching homage to the 1956 nuptials of the groom’s grandparents Prince Rainier III, whom he adored, and Princess Grace, whom he never had the chance to know. Among the guests were of course his mother Princess Stephanie, his uncle Prince Albert and his sister Charlotte Casiraghi, who herself had tied the knot less than a month earlier to film producer Dimitri Rassam.

The glamour of the locale was surpassed only by that of the bride, who wore a stunning traditional floor-length gown, reputed to have required 300 hours of embroidery work and designed by the groom’s sister, Pauline Ducruet for Atelier Boisanger.

For later in the day the bride chose another contemporary look morphing wedding romance with party chic, featuring a short hemline under a spectacular extra-soft tulle and embroidered overskirt.

The couple, both aged 26, met seven years ago as students at SKEMA Business School in France where he was student president and she was majoring in business administration. Fast forward to February 2018 when the announcement came via social media of the couple’s engagement, an altogether romantic proposal whilst they were holidaying in Vietnam.

Mr Ducruet is currently assistant to the vice-president of football team AS Monaco, a dream job for someone who studied sport management. His wife is project manager at the Casino de Monte-Carlo and a blogger. Both bride and groom are Monegasque.
