The Executive Director of the Office of the European Union for Intellectual Property (EUIPO) paid an official visit to the Principality yesterday.

EUIPO Executive Director Antonio Campinos and his Director of the Department of Legal Affairs and International Cooperation, João Negrao, were in Monaco to meet the Government Advisor – Minister of Finance and Economy, Jean Castellini, and the Director of Economic Expansion, Serge Pierryves.

The purpose of the meeting was to examine possible cooperation between the European Organisation and the Monaco Intellectual Property Office.

In this context, it should be noted that Monaco operates a very tight policy on Intellectual Property, in particular with regard to the unauthorised use of ‘Monaco’ and ‘Monte-Carlo.’
