Distinguished Peruvian diplomat presents credentials

albertperuPeruvian Ambassador Alvaro De Soto Polar presented his credentials to Prince Albert, the country’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said on Tuesday, July 18. The event took place during a special ceremony held in Monaco in the presence of Honorary Consul of Peru in Monaco, Jean-Baptiste Pastor, and Monaco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Gilles Tonelli.

HE De Soto Polar, who concurrently serves as Peru’s top representative to the French Republic and is based in Paris, extended Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski’s greetings to His Serene Highness.

He has enjoyed a long career at the UN and served as the Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process before resigning in 2007, citing US pressure on the United Nations.

De Soto Polar is a Member of the Global Leadership Foundation, an organisation that works to support democratic leadership, prevent and resolve conflict through mediation and promote good governance in the form of democratic institutions, open markets, human rights and the rule of law. The not-for-profit is composed of former heads of government, senior governmental and international organisation officials who work closely with Heads of Government on governance-related issues of concern to them.
