Commemorating the liberation of Monaco

A range of events will be held this Tuesday, 3rd September, throughout the Principality to celebrate the liberation of Monaco and pay tribute to victims of the 1945 war.

Monaco will be hosting a series of events for the Principality and its residents in memory of the victims of war and the liberation of Monaco on 3rd September 1945.

The morning program will include vintage military vehicles which will parade from Avenue Saint Laurent to Monaco-Ville, via Grimaldi Street.

At the Palace Square, the Prince’s Carabiniers will take over from the Guard and there will be extras in period outfits, as well as old military vehicles and ‘members’ of the Resistance.

Simultaneous commemorations, speeches and wreath laying will take place on Avenue Saint Laurent, Albert 1st High School, the National Council and the Maison de France, where the main ceremony will take place.

Vice President of the Fédération des Groupements Français de Monaco (FGFM) and Jean-Luc Delcroix, President of the Commemoration Committee of the Epoque of Monaco (CCE), will deliver speeches in tribute to the victims of war.
