HE Mr Bernard Fautrier, Vice-President of the Monegasque Athletics Federation, Jean-Pierre Schoebel, Director of the Herculis International Athletics Meeting, and Rémy Charpentier, Head of the Athletes’ Team, on Wednesday, July 11, presented the 2018 edition of the upcoming athletics meeting at Stade Louis II.
After celebrating 30 years last year with the presence of Usain Bolt for his last race in the competition, this 31st edition promises to be at the highest level with the world’s best athletes competing.
A first in Monaco: the public will be able to attend two free demonstrations on Thursday, July 19, in the city, on the Albert I promenade between the swimming pool and Rascasse, at 18:00, the women, then at 19:15 the men.
On Friday, July 20, after the opening show at 19:15 with DJ Martin Solveig, the Stade Louis II will host six men’s events: 200m, 1500m, 110 hurdles, 3000m steeplechase, high jump and triple jump; plus five women’s events: 100m, 400m, 800m, 3000m steeplechase and pole vault; plus two additional events: 800m men and 100 hurdles women.
