AS Monaco have drawn 2-2 against Nîmes in an exciting match at the Stade Louis II on Sunday.
It’s been a catastrophic start to the season for AS Monaco, who have notched up two 3-0 defeats so far, their worst start to a league season in over a decade.
But that all changed on Sunday afternoon as the Red and Whites managed to secure a draw in front of the home crowd.
Algerian forward Islam Slimani opened scoring (39′), while another new signing Wissam Ben Yedder doubled for the hosts in the first half.
The second 45 minutes were not so good, however. Jemerson got sent off in the 56th minute giving the visitors a numerical advantage to push for goals and even pick points, and they welcomed it with aplomb.
Romain Philippoteaux reduced the deficit and eventually Nîmes managed to level through 18-year-old Togolese Ahoueke Kévin Denkey.
The draw means AS Monaco have just one point from three games.
